Stretching

After a day of skiing or even during each break you have to stretch. This works just like relaxing the muscles to prevent sore muscles the next day.

Massage

Concerning top sport, a massage does miracles. Take a hot bath after a day of skiing where the thighs were used a lot. Nothing feels as good. This special treatment has a relaxing effect and make sure your thighs get relaxed.

Eat well at night

To stay in shape and to avoid fatigue a diet that’s rich in magnesium and sugars is important to fill up your energy. So when you are back from the slopes, dine first.

Sleep well

A ski holiday means a higher use of energy. Altitude has an impact on the body because of the discharge of hormones and the decrease of oxygen. After all these changes it is wise to go to bed when you are starting to feel tired so you can enjoy your night.

Warming up

Before you go skiing you have to warm up for about 15 minutes before you wear your equipment. This essential preparation helps prepare the muscles for effort. Focus on the lower part of your body but do not forget the upper part that helps with balance.

Protect yourself against the sun

The altitude, the reflection from the snow and the extreme sun rays are three harmful factors for the skin. That is why it is recommended to protect your face before skiing with a sun block with a very high factor (IP) 50+, rub every 2 hours. The same goes for the lips that also need to be protected with a lip balm.

Hydrate

Before you leave for the slopes is it necessary to hydrate yourself. In the mountains, with dry air, transpiration and hyperventilation, the body dries out much faster. It is ideal to have drunk at least 0,5 liter before going skiing and then to drink 0,25 liter per hour.

Every morning a big breakfast

With the cold and the altitude the body needs a lot of energy especially to spend a couple hours outside. A big breakfast with brown bread or cereals, a hot drink, dairy, a fruit juice for vitamins and even eggs will help the body face a new day.

Have a break

Try not to burn yourself out, take the time to take a break and to give yourself a half day off. This well-deserved break will protect you for possible injury caused by fatigue.
