Courchevel is made up of four separate villages; Le Praz (1300), Village (1550), Moriond (1650) and Courchevel (1850). The former is the most well-known and expensive resort of the four, however the other villages are surprisingly good value. Moriond mainly consists of gentle green and blue pistes which is perfect for beginners who want to learn at a leisurely pace. There are also many English-run ski and snowboard schools available which, for a novice, is a big advantage having a native English speaker teach you.

Moriond is prettier than its expensive neighbour with a traditional French Alpine look and is particularly popular with families boasting a large variety of après-ski activities. And for those non skiing days there’s a huge water sports centre complete with Jacuzzis and saunas.

Courchevel is perfect for the foodies; it has an amazing 5 restaurants with 2 Michelin stars. For those on a more modest budgets there are plenty of other great restaurants serving up classic and contemporary Alpine cuisine!

With daily flights from all around the UK to nearby Geneva and Chambery airport, it’s easy to get to. Transfer to the resort is simple with many private and public shuttle buses operating directly from both airports. Or if you don’t fancy flying there’s a direct train from London, St Pancras to nearby Moûtiers.
