However, it goes without saying that the skiing and snowboarding competitions take pride of place. The most important of all is Critérium de la Première Neige (8 – 17th December), the prestigious international ski competition where you can catch a glimpse of the world’s top skiers effortlessly descending the slopes. Another huge event in the Val d’Isère calendar to watch out for is the Alpine Skiing Europa Cup Giant (23rd January), you will be blown away by the level of skill, speed and stamina of the contestants.
